It looks like the Polar Vortex is going to keep things cool and quiet for the at least the next week or so. Excellent weather for Trout fishing for this time of the year. Streams should be in great shape. Now... if I only had some free time and some extra cash to make another run to the DTA. -Bill |

I thought I was going to get the chance after getting the car out of the shop this afternoon. But the mechanic didn't have the right parts. No long distance drives until next week. |

thanks Trap. Be at Sidie Hollow at 7:30 tonight for fire and cocktails. Only have Tuesday to fish. 500 miles windshield time to fish one day. Got to love it! Doug |

My spies are telling me that conditions around the Viroqua area are excellent for this time of year and the Trout are biting. Streams are running with good flow and cool temperatures. Dries, sub-surface, streamers, terrestrials, everything is working well at the moment. Sure wish I could be there. Looks like I won't have another chance until mid-August. Why did I waste so much time fishing crappy weather/conditions back in April & May? -Bill Edited by user Tuesday, July 15, 2014 9:39:49 AM(UTC)

For some unknown reason, the Bad axe was running with lots of mud yesterday as reported by two guys just about ready to fish WF across from Trout Haven. Perhaps some stream work is in progress... Everything else seems to be running clear and cold around here. |

Spring Coulee running crystal clear, Timber just a slight cloudiness in deeper pools, Bohemian clear ... Coon from Coon Valley thru Chaseburg starting to clear, so instead of chocolate milk its a blue/green haze .... probably clearest it has been this year. Sigh ....and yet another weekend I won't be fishing .... step-son competing in Tough Mudder in St Paul/Hudson this weekend, so going to spectate. |

Sounds like a perfect opportunity to fish the Hudson area. PM me if interested and I can point you to a couple spots. The fishing has been great up here now that the water is finally in good shape.
