I'm sure some of you have seen this by now, but for those who haven't, here is a nice synopsis on the current fisheries this spring. This is more narrow to the upper driftless, but I'm sure applies throughout the area.

The good news in all this is we may have a couple years of some bigger trout coming.

Thanks for the link. Appears that Marty Engel is the biologist for the northern driftless and that is what the thread is referring too? I only ask because down here I don't remember much for high water events last year.

Great post which has confirmed my suspicions for the past year. There was no way the consistent, weekly floods last spring did not have some detrimental effect on the younger classes of fish. On the flip side, hopefully the abundance of aquatic insects right now and the lower number of trout per steam mile on the Kinni will increase the average size of the trout.

Yes, most of the reported low numbers are coming from two top secret streams up here; the Kinni and the Rush.
