i know i looked goofy but i would never go in shorts to some of the places i fish. to much that can burn, or bite, or sting. I'm going to try the nylon pants though

Nylon zip-offs are the bomb for wet wading. ThumpUp

Board shorts (swimsuit) and Chacos (sandals) is how I roll after it gets warm enough. I guess bathing suit with PBR in hand lazily 1 hand casting wasn't "classic fly fishing style" I wish I had a picture of them

That's how I do it! A buddy and I set up during high water last summer on a deep, slow pool on the Rush. We set our lawnchairs on the bottom, set up rod holders, casted out a couple crawlers, and kicked back a few beers. We got the nastiest look from a couple fibs trying to fish dries in that muddy water. We laughed and cracked a couple moreLaugh

I always use em, no problem with the heat. The protection from bugs, wild parsnip and thorns is worth it. I primarily spin fish, so I am in the water thigh height or higher for 4 hours straight. You do that here in Pierce co without waders and you'll be blue and have hypothermia. The walk back the acre can suck tho.

I wear some sort of wader all year, Got to say I really like my breathable pant waders on hot days. To much stuff that tears you up or can go through thin cloth up here.
I think all fishermen prefer to be thought of as crazy.

From April 15th and on I never wear waders. Just a pair of turkey hibting naylon pants and keen water shoes.

I go by season, waders in the spring, winter and fall and wet wade the summer. I actually do most of my Driftless fishing in the winter.

By the way, best wet wading shoe ever, the Astral Brewer (paddling water shoe)comfortable, grips well, easy to clean off....

Me too. I pretty much go through 1 pair of water shoes per year, but love this method. Can't stand sweating inside waders.
