Thanks! Looks just like a Sparkle Dun - my favorite fly of all time. I carry one fly box with me at all times that has nothing but Sparkle Duns in it of various sizes (14-20) and colors (tan, grey, olive, yelloe, white). Floats well, easy to tie, cheap materials, has a great silhouette and catches lots of fish on the surface. Looks like I need to add another color...

Matt uses 8-10 strands of zelon for tail and caribou hair for wings. mj |

I usually use deer hair for the wings. Sometimes elk if I want something lighter colored. I stack the hair first and end up with a really nice looking semi-circle of a wing. Antron or zelon for the tails - usually cream or olive colored, depending on the body color.
