Walking out to the garage this evening it was warm enough (50 degrees) to not even bother with a sweater. The sidewalk was covered with night crawlers and worms. I've never seen that before, two weeks into December. Weird.

Lots and lots of rain in the area. Hopefully this will keep Trout stream spring aquifers in the DA well charged into next year.

All the worms on the pavement got me wondering how many must have been flushed into the streams. The brookies, especially those in the less fertile streams east of the driftless, must have been gorging yesterday.

Absolutely. And there is no easier tie than a San Juan Worm, which matters around the holidays: I can still tie them with a bad case of the shakes due to too much celebration the night before.
