I made it up to the Boundary Waters for the Lake Trout opener last week. The fishing was slow - water temps were around 38 - and it snowed Friday and Saturday. However, on Sunday it warmed up and the bite was on. The lakers are really shallow in about ten feet of water and hanging over reefs which have access to the depth. Get up north and chase some lakers. There is probably only two weeks left where it's still possible to catch a laker on a fly rod.
