Just curious if anyone has gotten their hands on it and would like to share their thoughts.

Obviously a lot of reviews written online but hard to distinguish the real review vs the marketing hype.

I test cast both the 5 and 8 weight versions at my local fly shop and they are awesome. The Sage One was just so stiff that it hindered close range casting, the X has a much more progressive bend. By no means is it a slow rod though, it's tip is much softer than the One. It's also incredibly light, I thought the eight weight was a 6! I suppose this rod will sell like crazy but that still doesn't all that fancy marketing will eliminate tailing loops, wind knots, etc. Bad casting fundamentals equal sloppy loops and poor presentations no matter how fancy your rod is.

Just added a 590 to my quiver last week. Overall, it's a really nice stick. I would say it's the best jack-of-all-trades rod Sage has made in a very long time. Not sure I like it more than my Scott Radian, but it's very close. Goes well with Rio Gold and balances at the cork with a 5.7-5.9oz reel when the line is strung through the guides.
