Anyone have any experience with this Piscifun Sword Fly Fishing Reel ??? The reviews seem solid, and the price is attractive, but I'm always a little leery of Chinese imports.

In my experience if something has good reviews then it is likely worth the risk. I have three Clark reels that I purchased on EBAY all for less than 100 bucks and they seem to perform just as well as the more expensive reels that I have owned.

The mark of a good fly reel in my opinion is that it performs so well that you don't even need to think about it. I've had days on the water ruined by reels that break. While some people tout the whole, "A reel is just a line holder" mantra when it doesn't even do that because the drag is free spooling it can turn a dream into a nightmare.

I've had multiple Chinese-made reels either fail or completely fall apart on the water. It's never happened with American or English-made reels.

Smile I agree to what eddierivard said. I don't believe half of the amazon reviews are fake and customers still buy their fly reels. I bought a Piscifun sword series fly reel last November and it has been performing well enough. I am budget conscious. You cannot expect a $60 reel to have the performance or quality of a $900 Hatch Fnatic.
