I decided to hit a small stream that gets less pressure today. While I was rigging up the local Farm Dog decided I needed to be told off and stood on the bridge I needed to cross barking. I grabbed a treat and fed it to the dog as I crossed. Now I had a buddy that was jumping all over me. Not a great start. I wandered down to the stream with my new buddy wondering if I would have a new friend all day. I worked a pool and missed several fish. I noticed the dog had disappeared so I went up stream. Fished for a while till I got to a honey hole. With in the first few casts I was catching browns.

This was one of the bigger ones of the day. It is also one of the bigger fish I have seen in this system.

Then I broke 10 trout for the first time this year

Then I caught a real nice Brookie.

Then I broke 15, Somewhere between 15 and 20 my fly needed to be retired. I tied on a new one hoping my luck would hold out.

Then 20 trout. Never have I caught 20 trout in a day before. I was pretty pleased and running out of time.

This was my 27th trout. I had a banner day.

Today by far makes up for the few days I have been skunked.

Congrats on such a great day. Days like that give you plenty of happy thoughts to tide you over until the next time you are on the water.

Yup. That beard is on par with Reverend Peyton's.
