If you hit her up soon enough, she'll be grief-stricken and not thinking right. May just give the gear away.

... This is terrible, but sure got a good laugh out of it.

A couple months ago, my local ham radio club (another hobby of mine) posted a note on their website that said the widow of a long time member was selling a nice, if older radio. I went over to her house, and really felt guilty about the deal I was getting.

Until she revealed that, 8 months after his death, she and her new boyfriend are moving in together and so she wanted to get rid of her former husband's stuff!

Cabela's has some pretty hefty discounts on Sage right now. $200 off VXP and like $400 off Circa. They also have that Cabela's prestige full outfit for $130.

The Sportsman's Rack in Rochester (4867 19th St NW, Rochester, MN 55901) has a few most of the time. Prices run from $20-80 (can't speak to the quality of the fly rods, but they have some decent spinning rods if you dig for them). I've found rapalas and mepps there for $2-3. They also seem to have a ton of Musky gear if that's your thing.

I have a 9' 5 wt Alpha for sale. It's new, but was used as a demo so I don't believe it's covered by the EDGE warranty. There is a very small ding in the 3rd section of the rod that shouldn't effect the performance or durability at all; otherwise it is pretty mint. If you're interested, make an offer. I will take less than the closeout price.
