Hi i was wondering what would be a good place to try trout in iron county. Is montreal river or black river any good.

I've heard the upper Montreal has lots of small Brookies.

You're not gonna get a free great spot in that part of the state though, takes way too much work to find the good stuff.

I would say focus on the Montreal tribs, the main river is a bear and you'd need a boat in some spots. Lots of class 1 brook water in Iron county. R
