fished from 1-3 with the pup. water I saw was very high, but crystal clear, even on big water. hopefully we get a nice slow warm up.

a dozen fish on prince nymphs(I don't really like nymphing, but don't want the dog to get hooked with a size 8) we worked on heel a lot today when he'd walk forward while I'm casting. did pretty good.

all fish were caught in riffles or at the top end of runs. nothing of size.

how do I post pics now? I used to use postimage, but that doesn't work anymore. I got my first smart phone last year so it shouldn't be too hard Blushing

Made it out for the first time in nearly 2 years with my new fishing partner. He’s 7 months old and did well with the spin gear but not so much with the fly rod. He hates when I’m in the stream without him so he’d run up and down the bank “showing” me were the fish were. Apologies to the DTA’er on a popular Goodhue county stream that got a less than friendly greeting from him as we made our way back to the car.

Area streams have been low and mostly clear. I decided to trek east a bit and found slightly stained, but very cold water 35F. No action there. As usual, I found some good action less than a half hour away. No monsters, but I did land a tiger. Happy Fishing! R

Nice Tiger Randy!

Amazing how many have been caught in the last couple years.

Fucking Ron catches all the tigers. We've been fishing this stream pretty regularly for 3 plus years cuz I wanted to catch a tiger...hes got at least 6 there, and I'm still sitting on the goose egg.

I wish I could point to skillz, yes with a Z! But this is as much dumb luck as it comes. Those tigers are awesome colored and it seems they are even dumber than brookies when it comes to abandoned aggression!! Hahaha R

We were in the same place yesterday!

I was there from about 11:45-12:45 because I brought a 2 year old for his first time watching Dad trout fish ThumpUp He did really well, I gave him a stick (basically his rod) and had him "fish" with me. Then he became the net boy when I caught something. I was pretty impressed and extremely happy because this means he can go on other trips and not end up swimming.

Because this is the stream conditions thread, I'll give you some conditions...
Water was about average height with a slight stain. It was pretty nice.
Fish were caught (about 6 fish with 10 hookups and bad sets because I was trying to keep one eye on my kid and one on the indicator) mostly in water about 3-4' deep with some big rocks below on a size 12 pink squirrel I drunkingly tied the night before. Only one was caught in any riffles/faster water.

Here's a gif from the day...
