I've watched some videos on this, seems easy to do. I'm just wondering what the best place to order from is, and what size wire to get? Will mainly be making the larger ones.

I get most of my stuff from lure parts online or Barlows tackle. .035 wire is my preference - 4" length is plenty, and get the stuff with one end already closed - it's not much more expensive and saves you 2 (annoying) steps on the build.
If you buy blades from LPO, get the "regal" inline blades. The others are thin and cheap. Their size 4 is equivalent to a Panther Martin 6, size 5 is a 9, 6 is a 15. Recycle the lures you have worn out.
My favorite hooks are the red eagle claw 3x trebles - you can find them at any fleet farm or Wal-Mart. 20 packs for 7 bucks or so. Size 6, 8, or 10, based on your preference. Ron swears by 10, but I usually use 8 in my size 15 lures for inland trout. 6 or even 4 for bigger steelhead/salmon lures.
The twistech wire former is what I use - costs 120 new, I found one on eBay for 80, but I think I got lucky.

I buy most of my spinner components from Fisherman's Shack of Monmouth, OR. I have bought from Jann's, Barlows, and LPO, but really like the quality of the components from Fisherman's. I am not affiliated with it, just a satisfied customer.

What's your favorite way to dress up treble's on your spinners? Hair, feathers, plastic?
