I went out for an hour or two to a stream near Sheboygan, WI. It's a nice fishery with a decent number of browns and is a good fix if I don't feel like making the drive out to the driftless. Anyway, it's been 2 years.....yes I said 2 years!!....of not catching a trout on the surface. I can blame that on wrong place wrong time and the fact that I still have tons to learn even though I've been doing this for 4 years now. I wasn't getting anything to bite on my scud, then I noticed BWOs popping up from the stream....then like clock work, fish started surfacing. So, I sat at a hole for 15 minutes and laid that BWO down as softly as I could.....and.....FINALLY. A fish took it and boy was it a relief.
I didn't take a picture and it was just a 8 inch cookie cutter brown but damn was I happy I got out of my slump!! Just wanted to share with you guys since I figured you'd appreciate it as much as I do.
