What a fantastic weekend of fishing. We saw a bear, a badger and had a tree fall not 50 yards away. We ended up with 102 fish for the son and I for the weekend. The fish boil I did was excellent, as it normally is, Shebs took most of the left overs. Little bit of rain right there at Ellsworth, but didn't wreck out the streams we fished. Nice talking to everyone that came. Hoping to make Trapfest later this summer.

Glad you guys had some success even though I circled the wrong bridge on your map when I was 4 or 5 beers deep LOL

I second that. Nice work. Did anyone have good fishing? Sunday was a total wash. How come it rains every Trout Stock? Matt and I took my boat out on the Chippewa on Thursday. Really beautiful river, so clear and clean. Very sandy. Yet water was still swift to hard to stay in position to fish various places. Friday night Kyle and I got into some nice fish on the Mississippi and did dinner at The Anchor in Red Wing. Saturday morning we tried but the rain would not stop. One pike and cut loose mid-morning.

Pretty certain Troutstock will bring rain, hail, tstorm and/or tornado. Small crowd, but fun was had by all. Fishing new territory both Sat and Sun and it was well, kinda average. The brookies on Saturday were laying low in holes and biting lightly with no second chances. Lotsa misses. Sunday was low number, big brown territory. Shebs and I both landed a few fat, midsize browns. We both had near 17" fatties. I caught a 23"pike or so as well. Shebs got close to a monster! The camera was acting up a bit and I missed a few nice ops, but beats work any day! Hahaha Happy Fishing!! R

Nobody using worms? I"ll go to my favorite streams and not catch much of anything on spinners but will catch 50+ on worms.

I was present. I see a lot of trout. This pig was thicker than my thigh and by my guess 26". Unfortunately, it was the worst of struggles. A short shot 10 footer hitter that ran quick. This water has more current than your average stream. A cpl of headshakes into current and full flip with current set her free. I almost felt victimized and it wasnt even my fish!!!! Hahaha. R
