Yes. Big fish in there. You'll be best off with tiny Midge patterns size 22 or smaller or mytis shrimp patterns.

Yea it's a great tailwater but pretty tough (technical) from my experience. There's good access right behind the Cutthroat Anglers shop, I'd stop in and pickup some tips and flies.

This about covers it. I've fished it in summer when there was some more surface activity which was helpful. We hooked some nice fish on mysis patterns. And if you tie, it's sort of fun to tie something totally different.

I've tied a few mysis shrimp with white thread, flash and the Mono eyes you melt back and color black. Also did one with some hot glue. Hopefully the weather will be decent at xmas there. My 3 boys are in the 20 in club, not me :) Hopefully this trip ends the 30 year drought.

This is great advise. it is a beautiful place to fish. There are a few great tailwaters in that area.

Earlier this year the Blue River had some trouble with runoff from an old gold mine. It turned the whole river bright orange. It is usually a beautiful blueish green. I don't know if there was a fish kill from it. This has happened a few times in resent years.

Yes. I especially love the outlet mall piece in Silverthorne. The glow of the Gap is breathtaking at sunrise.

Pretty cheap comment.

It was a tongue in cheek comment meant as a joke. Guess I should have used an emoji.

As this is online, tone and connotations are harder to pick up. Semantics are difficult. As you didn't preface your stellar comedic abilities beforehand, you should invite some DTA members to your next stand-up gig at Acme comedy to show off your jokes. But in the meantime, if you have anything insightful about the topic, it would be much more appropriate to include those sorts of comments.
