I fished the Eau Galle River on July 3, 2016, from just downstream of the volleyball net in Handy Andy Memorial Park upstream to just upstream of the 29 bridge. Expectation wasn't very high of catching anything large. The biggest thing I saw was the beaver swimming towards me to get to his hole on the river bank. Just wanted to get out on the stream for a few hours while on vacation camping at Highland Ridge. Using a beaded scud, I caught about 10 fish ranging 2"-5" with the last being a largemouth bass. The lake surface temp was about 77 degrees.

Further down is much better.

Spring Valley and Elmwood used to get hammered with floods every spring, dam was put in for flood control. At least it's a bottom draw.

I just visited the Eau Galle on Thursday at two spots... one in Spring Valley and then another a few miles south. The water was too warm to fish though and pushing 80 degrees.

However Plum (Plum City), Cady (Elmwood), Gilbert and Wilson (Menomonie) are all in the area and are fun to fish. I'm in Menomonie so let me know or PM if you want to go!
