I am excited to be a part of the community and hoping to contribute and connect as much as i can.

Welcome Adam. If you ever end up in the La Crosse area and want to fish, let me know.

Hey all, new to the forum but a somewhat long time lurker. I live in central St. Croix County and get out on the streams in this area as well as down by Elroy and Kendall. Looking forward to learning more and participating in the discussions here!

Welcome to the board!

I would love to hear about your fishing experiences in the central sands region. It's an area that is mostly overlooked by the Trout fishing guys.

Actually St. Croix is right at the north end of the Driftless. I fish the Kinni, Rush, Trimbelle and others in the area that are pretty good down in Pierce. Even down by Elroy/Kendall I hit the Baraboo, Kickapoo, etc. Sorry, no help!

Ah, of course. Why did I think that St. Croix was in the central part of the state? A bit of Alzheimers kicking in I guess.

Hello all, I'm Phil. I live in Madison (just moved here last fall) and am learning and fly fishing my way around the Driftless. I grew up fishing in Nebraska and picked up fly fishing a few years ago when I lived in Canada. Always happy to chat or head out fishing!

Yeah... you had me confused.

The (actual Flapper ) Central Sands has me very intrigued and I plan to hit some streams there this summer.

I am easily confused these days. Wink

I have a friend that keeps pestering me to try some of the streams in the central sands area. He makes it sound like an undiscovered Trout haven. My experiences on a couple of trips through there weren't as positive, but I need to get back there and explore a bit more. I still prefer the quantity and variety of the small steams of SW Wisco best.
