yeah.. they are a great resource.. i find it disappointing that if you want any info beyond addresses for Fillmore county that you have to buy a subscription.. which is bullshit for public information

This link is definitely worth it's weight in gold. I've used it a fair amount and the accuracy it contains is uncanny.

Amen. And this year they've added satelite photo layers, pretty cool. Truely an amazing resource. Someone at the DNR put in some serious time and effort creating this tool.

The DNR recently updated it to function more like Bing/Google maps. Very cool. It's much easier to zoom in/out and move around the map. A whole new experience.

This is a favorite site of mine. Even if you don't fish ultralight, there are many guys posting great information and great pics from all across the country.
“If the trout are lost, smash the state. More than any other fish, trout are dependent upon the ambience in which they are caught… At the first signs of deterioration, this otherwise vigorous fish just politely quits, as if to say, ‘If that’s how you want it…’”

These maps are also available in book form from the DNR for free. One book for the NE portion of the state, and the other for the SE part of the state. They'll send it out for free. The book form is great, imo, because you can be out fishing, and open the books to see what streams are near by, and what species of trout are in the stream, as well as any special regs. I also mark the stream I've fished with what I've caught, and what lures worked. Kinda handy to looked at the book and tell if a stream is worth it or not.
"What do you want to fish for?"
"Trout."
"Why trout?"
"Because there's no better fish to chase!"
