Very nice. Good combo of hard-fighting fish. You know the Minnesota state record bowfin is only 31.5" (12 lbs 9 oz)...that thing had to be close, right??

Whoops, I guess depending on which fishing license you have, you might be more interested in the Wisconsin state record bowfin...almost identical: 31.6", 13 lbs, 1 oz

Damn, first year musky fishing and you have three to hand on a fly rod! Congrats.

That dogger is a beast! I bet he had the rod doubled over.

Thanks, Kyle! I've just been stripping hard and mean and I guess I'm just getting lucky.

But about to go on a tying spurt for this fall. I'm going after the biggies!

Hard and mean, hahaha, I never thought about it that way, but it's the perfect description.

Better to be lucky than good, eh?

What is the biggest you've caught so far?

Levi I end up searching my own site for dogfish posts of mine and stumble upon yours. Wow what a magnificent fish! They are truly unique fish. I'm so hooked I really look forward to next spring during the spawn.
