Went for a walk with my 3wt and dog at the bridge, from my place tonite.

I needed to wet a line after being sick all week and getting my old truck fixed.Ball joints, bearings, brakes, rotors etc..way to much fun.

The cliff swallows were busy feeding near the bridge.
The Trouts were busy feeding too.
The air was still.

Started with a Caddis dry and crazy Caddis beadhead dropper, no go
Snipped the beadhead off and tied on a gray scud, no go

Snipped the whole shit off and tied on a pink Hippy Stomper- yes, they sell them this year and Geri picked one out for me the other day.
Six Trout stuck, zero to hand, damn Trout. My dog was disappointed.

Walked back home with a smile on my faceLaugh

Time on water: 45 minutes
Water covered: 100 feet, two holes
Quality of fishin: High
Catch rate: none

Hope you learned something.

I was out on a local stream yesterday and man were things slow. Tried a good combo of things and only managed a handful of fish. Did get a few rising fish to eat caddis flies though. Tried a red hippie stomper with no luck. Maybe next time I'll have to try pink, I've got em!

Trap,

What size Hippy Stomper were you using? I had tied up some with a size 12 hook over the winter and I gave them a try on my last fishing trip. Got a few strikes, but they were reluctant to eat it enough to get a hook up. I was thinking smaller might have worked better that day.
