Spent Sat., Sun. and Mon. am fishing the Driftless with buddy Jay Ford Thurston. Some rain, no lightning or thunder and semi-willing trout. By Monday they seemed full of worms, visual, but not the least bit interested in eating. Some bug activity, but we concentrated on deep-shaded pools. Mostly went to more remote, non- improved areas, and never saw another angler. Thinking the weather report scared folks off. Fished in the Kickapoo Reserve for the first time, ( Weister Creek ). Entrance & exit involved some serious bushwacking and the stream is nice & remote. Fish were caught, and my best was a 15" brown & 11" brookie. Several long-line releases on potentially nice fish also.Cursing Weeds are springing up and in several weeks, access to some might be tough.
