Heading to Kewaunee this weekend, looking to hook up with some lake run Browns.
Anybody been over?
Any reports?
Right now, at this very moment, it is the latest that it has ever been.

Trust me I give plenty of $upport to our trout fisheries as well as other fisheries, but on occasion I need a change of pace.
If anybody else has a report on the Lake Michigan tribs I would appreciate it.

Thanks. KS

Huh? Seriously?

Swinger: so far the report is pretty slow. I can't get out this weekend but am planning a trip or two maybe in the next few weeks. PM me if you want any more info.

I know Sheboygan river is hitting browns and coho off skein. Look for slow moving pools and bends. I have yet to try Kewaunee, but I'll be there next week so your report would be helpful.

More western Kewaunee, the river gets quite shallow so I am unsure if the salmon will run that far.

If you have the time, try Shoto Lake in Two Rivers. There is a good run there every year. River can become muddy easily for days if there is rain.

Shoto Lake? How big is the water?
I am going to be limited to hip boots this trip as my summer weight waders sprung a leak and the only other waders I have are 5mm neoprene. Weather sounds a bit warm for 5mm's.
Hip boots have always worked fine for me on the kewaunee.

Yes, seriously, don't even think of comparing a wild Driftless Brown to a lake brown.
FYI: I grew up next to the lake in Grafton, chasing lake crap in the 70's when I wasnt here fishin quality Trout.

BTW: this site is called what?LOL

I saw the first fish of the year in the Branch River yesterday. The that means you should be able to find fish in most of the tribs. I don't know how many, but there are fish to catch.

I am so happy you enjoy the stocker bows.

I started my fishing hobbie over 50 years ago catching stocker rainbows at the old mill pond in Timber Coulee at age 4 or 5, with a Zebco 202. You can disrespect them bows, I have fond memories of them long before most ever heard the word Driftless.

Iowa has many wild Trout-as in born in the stream- access is an issue. Perhaps that is a good thing?
