I realize Eddie caught a "life time achievement" fish. A beautiful 17 inch tiger trout. I am honestly humbled.... and very pleased that we have such a creature living in our coulees!

When I arrived at Winter Trapfest, I was excited as I stepped out of my car and saw Eddie there, because I was going to brag about my 12" tiger trout... Well, you can guess how that conversation quickly changed LOL

The odd thing (besides that fact that we both caught tiger trout that day) is that we both broke our rods Crying

Please, when busting ice out of your eyelets, be gentle.

You have a beautiful fish and great pics! Your post hits home on the broken guide too. I've done this quite a few times in the past.

I was pretty worried about busting a tip today. The cold must make the carbon brittle.

Beautiful trout and great pics, too! Thanks for sharing. Very cool so many tigers have been caught during the first couple days of the season.
What was big was not the trout, but the chance. What was full was not my creel, but my memory.

Cudos to all you guys on the nice tigers .... Dan & Eddie, I am betting the rod warranty exclusions include:

"...No coverage for damage to fly rod is provided in the state of Wisconsin due to strength of any tiger trout exceeding 11.5" caught in January where air temperature is below freezing??"Flapper
