Unless one can enjoy himself fishing with the fly, even when his efforts are unrewarded, he loses much real pleasure. More than half the intense enjoyment of fly-fishing is derived from the beautiful surroundings, the satisfaction felt from being in the open air, the new lease of life secured thereby, and the many, many pleasant recollections of all one has seen, heard and done."

I will be there all day Sunday tying flies with the Saint Paul Fly Tiers. I may even sell a few for ridiculous prices if anybody is willing to pay up. I'll bring a Sharpie in case anybody wants me to sign their rod. The only type of rod I sign is a fishing rod just so you know. I will probably go there just to walk around and look at stuff on Friday or Saturday. It will be nice to run into some fellow DTAer's.

I may have to check this out. Thanks for posting
I think all fishermen prefer to be thought of as crazy.

Sure wish there was a fly fishing show closer to home for me (Milwaukee). Seems like I heard about one in Chicago once upon a time.

Stop by the Driftless Fly Fishing Company's booth and say Hi

Will you be selling autographed stickers? It would make me so happy.

I'll be there Saturday for awhile. I have a seminar to check out and need to look for things I "need" to buy.

If y'all see a guy today (Sunday) at the Expo with a mild limp wearing a "Gizzly Hackle" cap, together with an attractive woman trying to look interested and a couple of smaller teenagers looking absolutely bored to death, then by all means complement the attractive woman on something, just to surprise her. Hoping to be there later in the morning.

(FYI, my wife is considering taking her first elk this fall, and is interesting in finding out how to catch a musky on a fly rod.)

Did anyone see a gentleman named Dave Larsen tying flies? He tied some of the most beautiful paired wing wet flies I have seen. It was very impressive. There were many other great tiers, but his flies impressed me the most. What was everyone's favorite thing there? Any good seminars?

I cast the new Sage Mod while I was there. Impressive stick, and something very different from Sage!
