Here are the details for a work day this Saturday on Spring Coulee just outside Coon Valley, WI. Dave Patrick from the Blackhawk chapter will be bringing a trailer of tools to put together all these lunker structures. He's got the expertise and tools, so we just need people to help assemble them all. Even if your back isn't strong, we still need people to stand around and give advice. :)

Coulee Region TU will provide lunch for all who come help. Work will get started about 9 a.m. and we should finish up before noon.

Call me with any questions. 608-317-3747

Wish I could've attended. Glad to see you guys had the proper tools. Last time I helped out with this we were pre-drilling holes in green wood with under powered cordless drills and pounding 10" spikes with framing hammers. My arms ache just thinking about it.

Any word on when the lunker structures will be installed on Spring Coulee?

The Blackhawk crew had all the equipment, generators, drills, nailers. It made the work go quite well. Those guys really have the system down.

Mike Leonard of the DNR wasn't able to join us for the day, so I don't know exactly when they will go in. The rock is already there. The landowner, Mike McKittrick, thought that the rest of the work would be done in July. It will be interesting to see what it all looks like when it's done. It definitely will be a scenic place to fish.
