Has anybody ever come back to catch that one that got away?

Late last summer I hooked into the same low to mid 20's trout twice. Two different flies, three weeks apart. He was in the same pool. Both times I was using a three weight and expecting to catch smaller trout. A couple months ago I decided to switch to a 6 weight. Found a good deal on ebay on a blank, bought up some components, and built it up! A few weeks ago I hooked into a really nice trout. I left my net in the car (grew complacent) and as I pulled him to hand he gave a quick thrash and was gone...

Today I headed to the same spot with that fish on my mind. The stream was running full with a great stain. Skies were cloudy and intermittent sprinkles fell. After landing a few smaller fish on the pink squirrel of prey I hooked into something a little more sizable. After a decent fight he succumbed to the net. I'm pretty sure it was the one that got away!

After snapping a few pics I added an orange scud dropper and landed another 20+" brownie! Eddie knows the feeling, I was so happyBigGrin
