I recently started using a furled leader with tippet ring and a length of tippet with my fly rod. This works well for most of the time. But whenever I use a larger pattern, such as a Hopper or Hippy Stomper, I get a lot of line twisting on the tippet.

Has anyone tried using a micro swivel along with a furled leader? Seems like a good solution. Do they cause any issues with getting the fly line and leader to loop correctly when casting?

I just bought some for the same exact reason. Use with Nymphing as a connector between leader and tippet. I haven't tried it yet cause I'm too lazy to change out my rig right now - I have it set perfect to my tippet ring but I think they should work great. I will try next weekend and let you know.

You can add a piece of mono or amnesia to each end of the swivel then tie in loops. You can then lop to loop connect your line to the swivel to the leader
