Sorry, I always wanted to do that! I got out yesterday and today, probably for my last day of extended catch and release season. I headed to a stream that got washed out pretty bad a couple weeks ago. As I drove to the creek I saw lots of small landslide areas but thankfully none impacted the section of stream I chose to fish.

I landed a good number of fish out of this stretch. I hooked into one big boy but he pulled me directly into a root ball like he'd done it before. I couldn't steer him away with the three weight and off he was.

I managed a few around this size and a bunch of smaller ones. No fish rose on this day. They all came in the Squirrel or San Juan Worm. I expected to see a few fish building redds but on all three streams I fished this weekend I saw none. Fish were definitely stacked in pres-spawn mode and will be gettin' it on within the next week or two. Be careful out there if you plan to wade!
