While I was duck hunting Saturday, my wife, Janet, hit the streams of the Minnesota Driftless with fly rod in hand. She had a banner day throwing leech patterns. One of the large Browns she landed was her first 20" fish and was by far the largest trout she has ever caught. She was still visibly excited and over the moon hours afterwards and could hardly contain her excitement while telling me the story of the epic outing. I told her that I would take the "assist" as she caught him on a pattern I tied for her :-)

Unless one can enjoy himself fishing with the fly, even when his efforts are unrewarded, he loses much real pleasure. More than half the intense enjoyment of fly-fishing is derived from the beautiful surroundings, the satisfaction felt from being in the open air, the new lease of life secured thereby, and the many, many pleasant recollections of all one has seen, heard and done."

I like that streamer with the pearl bead head! Got to tie up a few of those this winter.

Very nice!

Thank you ... The pattern has caught 3 Browns over 20" here in SE Minnesota this year (2 by me and then my wife) along with many 17",18",19" as well. It just seems like a good versatile "catch all".
