I got so carried away thinking about redds I neglected to mention--WOW, that's one heck of a brookie!

Yesterday I snuck up on a pair of brook trout over a redd. They were bigger than average for the stream, but not even close to the length of your fish.

I didn't see any obvious redds or fish that appeared to be on them during the last two weeks, oddly enough. I was in class I (non stocked, natural reproduction) waters, but for whatever reason I don't think they were actually spawning yet. it's definitely something I try to stay conscious of, especially in Jan/Feb early season.

I know I already congratulated you, but I just gotta say this... I am one jealous sob right now. You've caused me to scout Ontario for nights on end. If you can make it up next June I think the Brookies will be in for a smackdown the likes of which they've never seen.
Again, AWESOME FISHThumpUp

Oh yeah. As long as it doesn't overlap with my Tetons trip, I'm super game. But we only gotta wait til January to head back to this girl's stomping grounds Razz

I'll be more than down. And I'm talking fish in the 18-24" bracket next summer, I've found shit that I doubt gets touched way back on the logging roads. Its probably good that I don't live there as I would contribute absolutely nothing to society.
