That was fun!

Looks like you got it using a fly rod. Feel free to add 5" the length and 3 pounds to the weight. That is called prestige points. LOL Nice work!

Eddie,
That fish made 10-12 big runs, jumped completely out of the water 3 times.
After the second jump while I was in waste deep water, he went above my head.
I didn't lose him on that jump so I knew I had a shot at landing him.

I used;
9' 8wt Echo base rod with 8wt ION reel.
Purple Blood Sucking Leech.

I was pretty proud my knots held!Woot

But I didn't add 5"s or 3#s.

Gorgeous fish. Congrats!

Hell of a fish, I love migratory salmonids! Did you get a girth measurement or how'd you figure 18 lbs?

Real nice fish! I love it when Trout get airborne during the fight.

Length X girth.
Another formula says half length X's 1# so that was a tad over 16#.
He was pretty fat.
I have no need to exaggerate the size, it's right there.
Also, I have a picture of the measurement using a tape measure.
I guess I shouldn't have posted this.

I was just curious man, that's why I said hell of a fish. Glad to see they're in, post away. A Steelhead that fat is a fish of a lifetime in the Great Lakes.
