In no particular order beside the top two:

Catch a 16" wild Driftless Brook Trout
Catch a 20" wild Ontario Brook Trout
Explore N Central and NE WI Trout Water
Fish 20 new streams ( yearly goal that gets tougher every year but always met by July)
Finally explore the northern interior streams of MN
Top last year's Steelhead success, and get away from the crowds while doing so
Fish with more DTAers, only got out with 4-5 of you folks last year

Fish trout streams more...had some back stuff last year keeping me from walking very much.

I also want to explore more warm water streams this year. Not sure why I haven't been as willing to drive north two hours to find smallmouth if I'm willing to drive 2-2.5 hours west just to find trout.

I'd like to find more streams that are really far from any type of highway--those are my favorite for sure.

I mentioned in another thread, but I started experimenting with tying my own 3-4 section leaders, and I think I got it down at 4' of 25#, 2' 15#, 2' of 6#, then 4# tippet, so looking forward to seeing how that works and tweaking it.

Likely won't get out this weekend with the 15 degree temps but it's nice to know it's an option.

Wet a line in MN and IA and fish with some of the people I've met here. I've lived in WI for 14 years and have never crossed the border to fish. That needs to change.

18" or better brownie. Have caught several in the 16-17 range, but nothing bigger.

Eye of the Tiger! I think I'm due for a tiger trout.

Help my daughter learn to fly cast. She's a beast with her spinning gear, but I think she's ready to try the fly. My son (14) has it figured out, so little one is next.

Tie more flies. I've tied a few, but then get "too busy" with a bunch of stupid tasks that bring me no joy.

Catch a muskie on the fly. Caught my first one on a traditional rig in 2016, so next step is fly gear. I know there are good fish to be caught right here in La Crosse County.

Since my back surgery is behind me, actually get out trout fishing more than 3 times all season. Also do more warm water fly fishing. Last but not least, explore more untapped warm water in the form of WI River sloughs. I have some good ones that I fish, but looking to branch out to uncharted territory this summer.

1. New species on a fly.
2. I would love to add at least a dozen new streams (cold and warm water) to the list between Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
3. Another tiger trout would be great.
4. Pushing streamers onto unsuspecting newbies. Start em off right, streamers all year long! I might even have a suggestion for a pattern or two.
5. Fishing more with my wife and kids.
6. Finally fish with MJ.

Keep me updated. ;-)

I'm planning on hitting the WI river sloughs/backwaters to the west and north starting in the spring for panfish. I live in Madison and it's worth an hour's drive to get away from the noise of the Madison Chain.
