Great avatar! I love it when cows do that. Seems like their plotting something...

They're great... until they're not.

Was approaching a cow portage as they also approached from the other direction and one started getting agitated towards me - snorting and jumping up and down in place as it approached me. Kept doing this and I would have video'd it except I decided to back the F off.

Moved upstream along the other bank till there was deep water and high banks between us. She still had it in for me for a bit until she lost interest eventually.

Not sure what would have happened, but she outweighed me by a lot and I didn't care to find out.

Different day, same location. Cows in a better mood standing on the bank above me as I fished.

I like em too when they don't walk right above a hole I was hoping to hit.

It's been a few years since I listed goals, and it seems the only way I do any of them is if I write them down...so here goes:

1. Attend a Trapfest/DTA gathering of some sort, or at least meet up with one other member for a day of fishing
2. Take at least 1 of my kids fishing more than once
3. Go out myself more than once for trout (went out several times last year for other species)
4. Take my wife out fishing again (it's been 2 or 3 years)

I've seen others say the same, but with 4 kids between 3rd grade and HS sophomore our free time is supremely limited. We are taking a family trip to Canada for 10 days though, so a rod or 2 may just find a way into the car for the drive Smile

Indeed. Growing up on my uncles farm, I was taught the rules of cattle:

1) If a cows head is down, or bobbing up and down, back away.
2) Never get between a heifer and her calf.
3) Never get between a bull and his harem.
4) Don't make eye contact, or turn you back on a nervous looking cow.

I didn't set a goal of number of times out, but tomorrow will be my 7th time this year.

If anything, I'll probably need to force myself to take fishing days off so I can get other things accomplished.
