Was out in Pepin County Friday, water was way down from the week prior and very clear. Son an I pulled in 3 Browns and 12 or so Brooks in 2.5 hours.

Conditions Sunday were too sunny.

Fish were hiding and hunkered down.

Still cobbled together 12 brownies on 3 new (to me) streams west of RC.

Should have gone today - perfect conditions.

Hit an area stream Sunday, water was real clear but we found fish. 56 between my son and I.

Was out and about on various Green County streams yesterday. Had a little luck earlier in the morning before the sun got too high but after that we had to hit up the wooded areas. Fun day, not huge numbers but enough to keep us interested. Did get my biggest fish of the year, 17" brown. Water was at perfect level and very clear. In stream weed growth not too bad for end of the season.

Streams that I saw last Friday were near normal levels and crystal clear.

Hit 4 streams NE of Richland Center and totaled 51 fish to hand… my first 40+ day. By the afternoon, I was getting mostly dinks and was pulling my lure away from chasers so as to not hook them. Eventually, I'd had enough of the little shites ruining great lies by being so overeager and called it a day.

The morning was exceptional though as I fished a trib of a well known stream and got 19 brookies and 13 browns in about 2.5 hours. Many of these were in the 8-10 inch range, but there were enough 11-13 inchers and a couple larger ones to keep things interesting.

I pulled one fish after another out and each one I put in the riffles behind me so they wouldn't go back in right away. Got 5 or 6 brookies and these two browns before the hole was empty or the remainders smartened up.

Not big, but loved the par markings on these two.

This particular stream was gorgeous with clear water and varied structure to attack. Vegetation in-stream was often bright chartreuse and the banks were lined with late summer flowers.

Just a great morning.

Hadn't been to that one before – will go back.

The streams with all the little shites…

Don't know about everyone else, but the conditions these past 4 weekends have been great and the fishing very, very good. Have been getting April-May like action lately.

Hoping it continues tomorrow AM.

I don't get up to the Driftless as often as some, but I had my best weekend ever last weekend.

Managed to find very silty water today.

A few larger streams that ran clear last summer when rain hadn't happened in a while are staying silty this summer.

Only had a small window to fish and scuffled to 7 fish. A couple were decent including a 16 incher, but a pretty meh outing overall.

The biting gnats are back in a big way for some reason.

Even with my buff, have a few welts on my neck.

I went to the middle branch of the whitewater yesterday morning. The water was just cloudy enough, and the fish were on cover. Their preferred lures ran kinda big and kinda bright. Pics are big, so I'll just link.

15". Thunderstick Jr. (Props to someone from here for recommending those. Need to buy more). I hadn't caught a brown with fin stripes like that before.
