Drove around Iowa, Sauk and Richland counties (Wisconsin) this morning searching for fishable water. All stream I looked at were high and muddy, with some up to their banks. Water temp on the two I checked was 38 degrees. Lots of standing water in farm fields feeding the run off. I'm hoping for better conditions tomorrow. Actually saw a few people fishing though.

Muddy is good (or at least not bad) for spin casters. BigGrin

Over the banks... not so good.

One of my favorite less popular streams was flowing over the banks today and practically Unfishable since I left waders at home but I found some hungry Browns where I could get a spinner to them.

Ha, nice looking fish...brooder? I caught one last year somewhere...fun surprise.

It's awfully tempting to get out tomorrow...perhaps I should go just to make sure the fish are ok what with this crazy weather and all.

A friend of mine kayaked the Sugar today and said it was a foot over flood stage.

I SO want to go out this weekend.

Is it worth the time?

Benn thinking about it all week. Will be a major letdown if I can't go out.

Use a thermometer and fish close to a big spring flow.

Or trust me... I'll get out.

Interesting....you don't have to divulge too much but was it more directly west or north of Madison?

I'm thinking of getting out in the morning but 20 miles north of Madison last week had more snow on the ground, so thinking they might be in rougher shape up there.
