So I was fishing the Kinni on Sunday evening and I caught this big brown trout. So here's the dificult part. I didn't have a tape measure to see how long it was but I did get a few pictures that helped.
I was showing my sister how to fly fish and had her help me with the netting. I used these pictures to sort of measure that part of the net that the fish was sitting in to get an idea of how big it was. I measured from where the handle and net meet to where the head of the fish stops and got 20.5 inches.
does this one look about right with the rough measuring that I had to do for all of you that have caught a 20+ incher?
ps I now have a tape measure that I'm keep in my vest so this doesn't happen again lol

That's a very nice fish, and from the Kinni no less! Fish that size don't show up there too often.
What was big was not the trout, but the chance. What was full was not my creel, but my memory.

That's a great fish. You shouldn't loose any sleep telling anyone it's a 20 incher. It's certainly closer to 20" than many of the 17-18" trout people post claiming they are 20". Congrats!
“If the trout are lost, smash the state. More than any other fish, trout are dependent upon the ambience in which they are caught… At the first signs of deterioration, this otherwise vigorous fish just politely quits, as if to say, ‘If that’s how you want it…’”

That is a nice fish. Congrats! I don't carry a tape, but I do mark off 16" on my fly rod (wrapped thread held down by some clear nail polish) and will compare fish to that to get an idea on how big they are.

A 19.5 from the kinni can be rounded up for sure, but I'll buy that regardless. Good work.

Without hesitation you can call that a 20" fish. Nicely done.

Did you turn a dream into a great memory?

That's what really matters!

Very nice fish!
