Don't have the time for a full write up, but managed to find and catch two huge wild Brook Trout yesterday on a system well SE of my usual haunts, but well worth the drive. They measured 16 and 18", I am beyond stoked. The 18 fought like a Steelhead. Both came midday from very deep pools on a remote section of creek I obtained permission on. #15 Panther Martin on both, I was trophy gunning and it worked out well
Here's the 16

And here is Big Mama. This big girl tangled me up in a root wad, took some drag, and was an all around pest to land, took about 5 minutes and I'm rocking 8 lb fluorocarbon these days.

The festivities are off to a great start...

Those are some special Brookies for sure. The big ones fight like Lions, don't they? Well done.
