has anyone tried the Berkley Ultra Lite Trout Dough Rod? Saw them advertised and thought I might give it a try. So, I ordered one. I haven't been able to try it yet and probably won't be to a trout stream until September. Anyway, it is fiberglass and I do like fiberglass rods. It has kind of a full flexing action and it feels great to just whip it around. I also like the funky green color. For the price, it will be one heck of a rod if it fishes as good as it feels. Joe

As a guy who loves small tight quarters streams, a 4'6" ultra light sounds great, but for 40 bucks you can get a 5' UL ugly stik, so I don't know that I see the draw on this one |

It'd be great for shore stuff for stocked lakes with powerbait or crawlers, but it'd be far too whippy for my taste in terms of throwing spinners or spoons. If you want a stream rod, I'd go with a light power, fast action rod, length depending on size of stream. I have a 5.5 foot St Croix Premium. |

I already have a 5' Ugly Stick, but one cannot have too many rods. Joe
