We ended up getting a hotel in Lacrosse.

If you're going out downtown, hit Shooter's.

Doesn't look like much but strong drinks, great music and a great time. Everywhere else is lame in comparison. The energy just builds until bar time.

Might even see me on the old Oktoberfest/Coon Creek Canoe Fest vhs vids that he still rolls. BigGrin

I went to college in LaX (89-93) and Rudy still owns Shooter's.

Partied mostly, but somehow ended up with a degree. Laugh

.

i was in shooters last year for the first time in years and while it didn't change a bit, the clientele sure did. weird lol

They we're closed around 11, and then they we're crazy hopping at 1:45 when we were on our way back.

Looked like a fun place though!

Yup, Shooters. And the Bodega Brewpub. Great bartenders.

We had a good turnout at the Westby Rod & Gun Club Campground for TrapFest 2018. It was bitterly cold, but the hardcore fishermen showed up and although the fishing was a bit slow, there were some Trout caught and many stories told.

Here's some blurry photos from Saturday afternoon / evening.

Trapper discussing the finer points of winter fishing tactics.

TrapFest regular Dan Small of Outdoors Wisconsin took in the scene.

The boys got busy at the fly tying table.

Fly tying expert (and inventor of the Pink Squirrel) John Bethke was also in attendance to share his insight.

Indoor camping, a well stocked bar and a new wood burning stove to keep everyone warm. Can't beat that.

Looks like you guys had a good time. I managed to get on the water for a bit this afternoon. Found open water on my second choice of stream, and there were some active streamer eaters.

A special thanks to the guys that showed up.

Tough weather kept most at home.

Hardcore members helped support the local Trout program
All had a great time and we donated a few hundred!!
