Nice carry-over Rainbow! Glad to see the DNR is still stocking them. I used to catch some nice ones in the The Big Green a few years back.

My son caught a 23" Rainbow in the Big Green last Sunday. We were so shocked. It had amazing colors and was really healthy. Didn't realize they were in there.

They put brood bows in the Green every year and last put fingerlings in during 2012.

Either way, that's a giant bow and if it was a brood, those are usually around 18" when they are placed, so your son's was likely in there for a couple of seasons at least.

Could have grown up from a fingerling too.

I hooked into a big bow on the Big Green about a year ago and it snapped a cheapie UL that I was using – was my backup at the time as my Ugly must have gotten a rat's nest or something.
