Love fishing soft hackles. The Partridge & Orange is a simple pattern to tie, and is killer in the Driftless. Olive works well too.

This blog was a really good resource for soft hackle patterns. Too bad he stopped posting. There are a few of his favorite patterns that can be accessed - Soft Hackles, Tight Lines

His YouTube channel has some of the best instructional fly tying and fly fishing technique videos found anywhere. I love his presentation and style.
