My body feels busted up lately so I contemplated whether I was going to fish the opener or not. I'm glad I went this morning. I went back to an area where I had missed a big brookie about a month ago. I got to the hole and wondered if he was still there or if he had moved on during the flooding. I casted in there several times...no takers. The next cast after letting it sink I slowed down my retrieve even more. Boom! Fish on and right away I thought it might be him. Sure enough it was. Pretty sweet to go back and get him after a month had past. Personal best brookie for me, just over 17.5" with his lower jaw hook.

That is a beast of a Brookie! Well done.

Awesome fish!!! It's nice to be reminded that fish like that exist from time to time. I can't wait until I break the 16 inch Brookie Barrier. ThumpUp
