On a panther martin, is there anyway to change out the hook?

Cut the hook off at the eye, add a split ring and your replacement hook.

Not ideal, but your other option is to get a wire former, cut them apart and rebuild them with heavier wire so they don't get ruined by one nice fish LOL

He's what Shebs is talking about. I don't have the hook sharpening skills Ron has so I periodically replace my hooks.
