That's a nice Brown! Well done. Great way to start the new season.

Great fish! Dang, those Panther Martins are really the go-to spinner in this area. When I lived out West, I never saw anybody use them - mostly Rooster Tails and Mepps. Maybe it's the different action of the blade on PM's that makes them more effective, but what do I know?

The blade is what makes them the best.

In the hands of a good trout fisherman, they are deadly.

Especially in the winter, the inline blade is key. Spins better at lower retrieve speeds.

Just got off the phone with Ron to make our plan for tomorrow, and he sounds like a kid on Xmas eve LOL

And a bit drunk.

I might just head to the stream now and wait for dawn.

Or maybe throw a mouse at 12:01.

Went to a typical winter spot in the morning. Snow melt was going on before the sun even got up. Stream looked different so probably changed a bit from rain last summer but didn't see many fish.

Wasn't out long though and nice to slosh around in the water a bit.
