Short answer, Yes.

If you want to catch trout go somewhere else. There are trout in the Mississippi river throughout spring but I'm not going to target them there.

Has any one fished or waded the Zumbro? And if they have waded it, what branches or where, it looks like a cool system that I would like to explore.

A float would probably be a good way to cover water. Fish the river, stop at feeders and wade up. There's a bankside canoe campsite at zumbro bottoms. I planned one and then ended up not doing it.

I have waded/fished the Zumbro proper. I guess it comes down to what are you targeting for species? It is not a trout fishing destination...yet there are trout in it in places. It warms significantly in the summer, so wet wading/floating in a canoe is your best bet. I typically fish it if I'm interested in smallmouth.

Sorry if I took over this thread, but yeah I know it isn't a trout stream so I would be targeting bass and just exploring the system. I think I'll explore the north branch first, thanks for the info.
