If you live and/or fish in Wisconsin, it's time to renew your Trout fishing license at the WDNR website for the 2019 season.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you no longer need to carry paper copies of your licenses or Trout stamps. Your drivers license is all that's needed if asked by a DNR warden. I keep copies in my car though, just in case.

Maybe it's just a WILD card you have to carry?

I should look into that...although I just make double sided copies of the license/drivers license to keep where needed.

Just a drivers license works - I've been checked a few times with only a drivers license.

But Trapper is right - you're good in Wisconsin with a drivers license or "Go Wild" card law enforcement on the borders require a paper copy of your license. Not just federal waters but any boundary waters where you might get checked by a Michigan, Minnesota, or Iowa warden.
