Went fishing with a buddy on a SE MN river that was fishable but high. The water was more colored than I'd like, but we gave it a go. The good news is we caught 4 german browns, all from 18 to 20.5. The bad news is that I lost 10 spinners and 2 rapalas, plus all the snaps to go with it. A few stuck in trees, a few sent flying into the stratosphere, and a good majority snagged on wood in the middle of the river. In normal conditions: 1. I could see all the logs and potential snags much better 2. when snagged I'd be able to wade out into the river without going over my waders. 10lb. braid works wonders but in this case any line would be outmatched.

Last year I can remember trips on end without losing a bait. Oh well, now I've got something to do tonight, bending some wire. Looking forward to getting out again now that the "rust" is off.
