I'm just wondering if anyone has ever run into hunters while out trout fishing? Sometimes I see deer stands out in the woods and wonder what would happen if I seen a dude sitting up there. I'm not sure if any seasons overlap with troutin' except for maybe grouse and woodcock.

Deer bow season starts 9/14.

As long as you're not on private property, shouldn't be any problems.

If someone is in a tree stand on a trout stream... well... they chose to be where someone might walk through.

Iowa's trout season overlaps all hunting seasons.

When the trout closing date was moved to the middle of October, I thought there might be some conflicts. But I haven't heard of even one. The only hunter I've ever encountered on a trout stream was in early September: he was dove and duck (I think teal season was open?) along a trout stream near Whitewater. No problems at all. We exchanged a few pleasantries and he even pointed out a nice fish-holding pool upstream that I hadn't known about.

Spring turkey season overlaps with both the early and regular trout seasons. I've seen plenty of hunters-or their trucks-then, but all were on private property. Even though a lot of the areas I fished were public hunting and fishing grounds, I never bumped into a turkey hunter on those properties.

I once ran into hunters during the January CWD season in MN, I was cruising downstream then was going to fish up from the point and they had a blind right by the stream, it was an eased section but I decided I had traveled far enough exchanged some pleasantries and fished on. They may have been upset but it's public water so oh well!
