Anyone ever fish the Blue River in Silverthorne CO? Headed there over Christmas.

Yes. Big fish in there. You'll be best off with tiny Midge patterns size 22 or smaller or mytis shrimp patterns.

Yea it's a great tailwater but pretty tough (technical) from my experience. There's good access right behind the Cutthroat Anglers shop, I'd stop in and pickup some tips and flies.

I've fished it in summer when there was some more surface activity which was helpful. We hooked some nice fish on mysis patterns. And if you tie, it's sort of fun to tie something totally different.

I've tied a few mysis shrimp with white thread,flash and the Mono eyes you melt back and color black. Also did one with some hot glue. Hopefully the weather will be decent at xmas there. My 3 boys are in the 20 in club, not me :) Hopefully this trip ends the 30 year drought.
